Natural material

Wool

Nature´s miracle fiber. Breathable and environmentally friendly.

Wool is naturally unique from sheep to sheep and each one has their own charm. For over a 1000 years, Icelandic weather has been a key factor in developing a protective wool, a natural shelter from tough conditions. Icelandic wool is divided into two main categories: Þel and Tog. The two-layer natural construction has remarkable insulation, breathability, and strength.

Our wool textiles are woven wool and Tweed in various colours, fake fur fabric with wool fur and cotton knitted base, and a non-woven wool fabric for insulation.

Sheepskin

Naturally warm. By embracing true Scandinavian style with authentic Nordic sheepskin which will add softness and comfort to any room.

Our sheepskins come from rare breeds in Iceland. We offer completely natural and un-dyed hides retaining their original markings and colour, as well as a range of beautifully dyed hides. The wool on the sheepskins are cut in different lengths and the colors vary naturally.

Leather

A material loved by many for its flexibility and durability. Real leather is a pure natural product and is therefore like wood; no two pieces are alike.

Our lamb leather is especially soft and free of scars by infestations. We offer our lamb leather in four colours; black, brown, dark brown and grey.

Historic Quality

Historically, in the artic region, materials for clothing needed to be of good quality for pure survival. Leather preparation and sewing were essential survival skills for locals. If your clothes break or tear in the icy cold, you have to be able to repair them. Knowledge of how to make waterproof, breathable garments has existed for a very long time.

Wool and weaving have in many ways been the heart of Icelandic society throughout history. Working with wool was an important part of the lives and culture of the people and a strong tradition for knitting and weaving. It was even punishable by law for selling inadequate woven wool in the viking era, as it was a dominant form of legal currency in Iceland. At a time the country was the largest producer of wadmal (woven wool) in the North Atlantic and it became to be very important to the country´s trade as the main export.
